Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the program?
Length of stay varies for each individual and is determined based on medical necessity. The length of stay averages 4-6 weeks; however this is unique to each individual based on clinical need. Additionally, patients often transition to our Partial Hospitalization Program when they are ready to discharge from 24-hour inpatient and residential care. This gives you a chance to practice what you have learned in inpatient and residential in the real-world with continued support and structure.
Do you take insurance?
We are in network with many different insurance companies and may be able work with your insurance even if we are not in network. We accept most major managed health care and medical insurance plans and offer affordable payment arrangements. We are also a TRICARE Certified Provider for active duty service members and their families. If we are not contracted with your insurance company, they still may cover a portion of the costs and we can also pursue the possibility of a single case agreement. When you contact our admissions team they will help you in determining your insurance coverage.
How is my meal plan determined?
When you arrive at one of the Reasons programs you will be assigned a Registered Dietitian that will meet with you and conduct an assessment. Based on that information and coordination with the medical and therapeutic assessments, a meal plan will be developed with your collaboration that meets your nutritional requirements.
Do you allow phone and computer use?
We do allow phone and computer use during scheduled times. We ask that everyone be focused on the program and groups and set aside specific times for phone and computer use.
What is a typical day like?
Programming for our Inpatient and Residential Eating Disorder Program runs from 7:45 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. with scheduled breaks throughout the day. You may have groups, individual therapy sessions, experiential therapies such as yoga, art and music, or meetings with the clinical director, physician or dietitian. The Partial Hospitalization Program runs Monday through Saturday from 10:30-6:30, and the Intensive Outpatient Program runs either from 10:30-2:30 or 2:30-6:30. Programming is rigorous in both programs, and days are comprised of groups, meals and sessions with scheduled breaks throughout the day.
