Located in the San Gabriel Valley in Greater Los Angeles, adjacent to our inpatient hospitalization program, the Reasons outpatient eating disorder programs at BHC Alhambra Hospital are focused on integrating what has been learned in treatment into everyday life, and providing additional support for those who are continuing to struggle but do not require 24 hour care. Patients are still provided the support and structure needed to help contain their disordered eating behaviors, but have more opportunities to practice their newly gained skills and face the real challenges that arise in daily living.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

The Partial Hospitalization Program is an intensive, structured 8-hour, 6-day a week treatment program that patients attend from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. It is designed to ensure continued success in recovery from the eating disorder with a focus on the individual’s emotional and nutritional goals while attending therapeutic and educational groups that address the particular challenges of implementing changes into one’s daily life. This program can be a transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment, or patients can enter directly into this program from the outpatient setting while still living at home or in local sober-living housing or a hotel near the hospital.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured, intensive 4-hour 6-day a week program that can act as a transition from the partial hospitalization program, or for those patients who need more than outpatient therapy. Patients can attend school or work while attending this program and will receive both meal support and therapeutic and educational groups. We offer two options for this level of care: 10:30 am to 2:30 pm or 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm depending on the individual’s schedule and treatment needs.

We believe in your capacity for recovery. Entering treatment at any level of care can be daunting. It is a step of courage. Partial Hospitalization can be a program you admit directly into or a place to continue the recovery journey after inpatient or residential treatment.

This program will provide you with a combination of support and structure along with real life recovery challenges. You will both be part of a group and also have a personalized treatment plan that take your individual needs into account.

Patients in this program live at home and commute to the program daily. We also offer an independent living home for adult women who are highly motivated for recovery.
