We place tremendous value on the role of our nurses at Reasons and believe that our nursing services are in line with the highest standards of specialized care for those in need of 24-hour eating disorder treatment.
Our nursing program is directed by Corinne Elliott, RN, BSN who has significant experience in eating disorder treatment as well as a strong background in psychology. Her philosophy that nurses are an integral part of the treatment team greatly influences the medical, psychiatric and nutritional aspect of our patient’s recovery. She brings an attitude of compassionate care and places great importance on providing patients with education and explanations about how their physical and emotional health are intimately connected.
We also offer a weekly nursing group covering a variety of topics such as the physical effects of stress and anxiety on the body and the medical complications of eating disorders. This education is paramount in the recovery process as it reminds our patients that the body, despite these serious complications, is also capable of healing due to the hard work they are doing every day in treatment.
