Continuum of Eating Disorder Treatment
for Teens

Located in the San Gabriel Valley in Greater Los Angeles, our adolescent eating disorder programs offer intensive therapeutic interventions for teens ages 12-17. Patients in this program receive structured and specialized treatment from a multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team that is sensitive to the developmental needs present during teenage years.

Our teen eating disorder treatment programs occur in a setting and context of compassion and understanding for both the adolescent and their family members. We see parents as respected partners in the recovery process and provide parents with education skills and understanding. Families have an essential role to play in eating disorder recovery. We’re committed to helping families understand their child’s eating disorder and provide practical skills on how to support their adolescent.

At Reasons, our adolescent eating disorder treatment center provides a safe space for people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives to have a voice in their treatment. We offer a truly personalized treatment approach: inclusive, person-centered and collaborative care that allows adolescents of all backgrounds to discover their reasons for growth and recovery.

Not sure whether or not you or your loved one should seek out a treatment center for an eating disorder? Learn more about common eating disorders and the types of eating disorder diagnoses and mental health concerns we address at Reasons.

INPATIENT

Our adolescent inpatient program is an intensive level of care that includes acute stabilization and intensive therapeutic interventions for adolescents of all genders ages 12-17. Patients in the adolescent inpatient treatment program receive structured and specialized treatment from a multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team. We collaborate with the family to promote emotional, behavioral and physiological re-regulation and stabilization to begin the process of healing.

PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION (PHP)

Our adolescent partial hospitalization program is an intensive and structured eight-hour, six day-per-week program that runs from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. It is designed to ensure continued success in eating disorder recovery by focusing on the adolescent’s emotional and nutritional goals while they attend therapeutic and educational groups to address the challenges of implementing changes into daily life.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured, intensive four-hour six-day a week program that can act as a transition from the partial hospitalization program, or as an option for those teens who need more than outpatient therapy. Teens may be able to attend school while attending this adolescent outpatient treatment program and will receive both meal support and therapeutic and educational groups.
