The Continuum of Adult Eating Disorder
Treatment Programs

Reasons Eating Disorder Center offers a full continuum of inpatient, residential and outpatient care for adult patients struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and other eating disorders, as well as telehealth options for our partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Located on serene campuses in the San Gabriel Valley of Greater Los Angeles, California, our eating disorder treatment programs help support lasting recovery through a balance of structure and practice of recovery skills in the face of real-life challenges.

Our adult eating disorder treatment programs help those who are struggling with eating disorders and those who are struggling with co-occurring anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, suicidal thoughts, self-injury, substance abuse, relational issues or other psychiatric concerns.

Reasons’ gender-inclusive eating disorder programs are led by a multidisciplinary team of specialists with many years of experience treating issues related to food, body, anxiety, trauma, and other co-occurring psychiatric issues. Our team grounds their treatment philosophy in the belief that all people deserve to recover in an environment of structure, support and sanctuary.

Whether you’re suffering from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder or another form of eating disorder, your eating disorder treatment facility should focus on restoring your whole person, regardless of the level of care.

INPATIENT

Our inpatient eating disorder treatment program focuses on addressing the individual’s medical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and nutritional needs. For patients requiring 24-hour eating disorder care and supervision, adult inpatient treatment offers around-the-clock nursing care and daily visits with a psychiatrist in addition to individual, group, and family therapy and nutrition counseling.

RESIDENTIAL

Our adult residential eating disorder treatment programs are located in intimate six-bed homes with a high staff to patient ratio, 24-hour nursing, and personalized treatment for each patient. Our adult residential programs offer gender-affirming care for female-identifying adults. They are designed to meet the needs of those seeking recovery from an eating disorder and who require a secure place to begin or continue their treatment.

LEARN MORE

PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program can be a transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment, or patients can enter directly into this program from the outpatient setting while still living at home, in our independent living house, or in local sober-living housing or a hotel near the hospital. The adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive, structured eight-hour, six-day per week treatment program that patients attend from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Saturday.

LEARN MORE

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT (IOP)

IOP is a structured, intensive four-hour, six-day per week program that can act as a transition from the partial hospitalization program, or for those patients who need more than outpatient therapy. The adult intensive outpatient program offers two options for this level of care: 10:30 am to 2:30 pm or 2:30 to 6:30 pm, depending on the individual’s schedule and treatment needs.

LEARN MORE

VIRTUAL OUTPATIENT (TELEHEALTH)

We currently provide three-hour virtual IOP sessions and five-hour virtual PHP for adults with eating disorders. Available five days per week, you’ll receive fast access to a UHS-credentialed provider for assessment, advice, education, intervention and monitoring. Like our on-site IOP and PHP, these programs also include group therapy, individual therapy, meal support, experiential therapies, and individual meetings with a psychiatrist, therapist and Registered Dietitian.
